KG1, KG2, KG3, KG5 SHORT PASS FILTERS

The filter glass KG would be used where color neutrality and the best possible absorption of IR is required. As a result of the absorption characteristics, the filter will get hot in use. Higher working temperatures require that the glass is toughened in order to increase the breaking strength. The minimum thickness for toughening is 2 mm. The constant working temperature allowed is the transformation temperature (Tg) of the glass minus 300 Kelvin. Temporarily the temperature can be Tg minus 250 Kelvin. The improved thermal resistance of strengthened filter glass may cause a slight deformation and therefore a slight change in the spectral values.

  • Heat protection filters for illumination installations
  • Substrate for IR-blocking filter with thin film coating
  • Components for laser safety eyewear and laser safety windows
